Innocence is the Perfect Disguise.

France, 1942. Charlotte Dupont, a young doll maker struggling to fill her father's shoes, finds her world turned upside down when she discovers a Jewish child, Sophie, hiding in her workshop. Still reeling from the loss of her little sister, Charlotte makes the heart-wrenching decision to protect Sophie at all costs.

As Nazi scrutiny intensifies, Charlotte must navigate a dangerous masquerade. By day, she crafts exquisite dolls that catch the eye of German officers. By night, she becomes "Charles," her father's fictitious son, to throw off suspicion. Each lie she tells, each doll she creates, becomes a thread in an intricate web of deception.

But the fabric of her carefully constructed life begins to unravel when a perceptive Nazi officer grows suspicious of the Dupont family. As the noose tightens, Charlotte must use all her ingenuity to keep Sophie safe, even as she grows to love the child as her own.

Just when Charlotte dares to hope for a future with Sophie, a shocking discovery threatens to tear them apart. Sophie's mother may still be alive, forcing Charlotte to confront an impossible choice: keep the child she's come to love or reunite a family torn apart by war.

Dolls of Deceit is a heart-wrenching tale of love, loss, and the lengths one will go to protect innocence in a world gone mad. It explores the blurred lines between truth and lies, and asks whether deception can ever be a form of love.
